Red Rose
Just felt like playing around in Photoshop for a little while last night! I photographed this little potted rose on my back deck. I spray painted a white poster board with a cool blue color and used it as the backdrop. Here is the original image SOOC. (Straight Out Of Camera).

Granny's Funeral Flowers
Well, Granny's been gone since November 1, 2011 and I've finally gotten the notion to make these flower arrangements from her beautiful funeral flowers sent by all of her family and friends. I've never dried flowers before, this was my first try! I collected so many from the graveside, they were all so gorgeous I couldn't bare to let them go to waste so I brought them all home with me not really sure of what I was going to do with them. I didn't know which ones would dry nice and which ones wouldn't. Now that it's done, I can tell you that lilies, daisies, and hydrangeas don't save at all. But the rest of these did quite nice. And I was really happy they kept their beautiful color!
I went to Hobby Lobby while their pottery/vases were 50% off!! Each of these vases ended up being less than $10 each!! Great deal. I also got 3 of those green foam blocks.
Yesterday, I thought it was time. I wanted to make something really pretty in remembrance of my Granny. I made one for myself, one for my sister and one for my Mom. I just began clipping the stems and sticking them into the foam. I had no plan or layout, its' all just very random. I just kept sticking and sticking anywhere I saw a empty spot. I even used some of the baby's breath and tinier little delicate flowers that all dried, surprisingly, very nicely!
So Mom and Laura, since this is your first time seeing all the flowers I saved... I hope you like them! I'll get these to you soon! Click photos to enlarge!

Meet Sunshine! My new kitty!
This is our new baby, Sunshine! She showed up at Granny's house several days ago and we just had to bring her home! She looks just like our late, Cornbread, except he had green eyes and she has orange eyes! She is such a little sweetheart and has made great friends with everyone in our little family here! Welcome to the family Sunshine!!

Pink Strawberry Rice Krispie Treats
I love Rice Krispie Treats and this recipe is a little bit of a twist on something I saw on Pinterest. For my recipe I decided to do a strawberry flavor! You use your regular cereal box recipe and replace white marshmallows for strawberry ones! And you add some dry strawberry cake mix and some sprinkles!
1. melt your butter in large pot over low heat.
2. add marshmallows.
3. stir and stir til melted
4. as they start getting pretty melted add in your cake mix a spoonful at a time and stir really good.
5. notice the beautiful shade of pink.
6. add in rice krispies and keep stiring.
7. continue to stir and sprinkle in the sprinkles!
8. remove from heat, turn off stove and spread onto cookie sheet using your clean fingers!
9. YUM!
10. If you plan to cut pieces out with cookie cutters, do it quickly while it's still warm and easy to press. Otherwise, cut into squares with a knife!
Hope you enjoy this perfect Valentine's treat!
